Introducing our Younger Readers Program
June brings us National Indigenous History Month, Aboriginal Awareness Week, and National Indigenous Peoples Day. These commemorative dates are an opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures.
We look forward to celebrating within our centres and with our community through the work of our non-profit, WilderFutures. Read on to learn more!

For Educators + Caretakers: The Young Readers Grant was created to improve access to diverse educational resources and help shape the minds of tomorrow. WilderFutures has partnered with Sagium and Owl’s Nest Books to provide a curated selection of books, free of charge, to organizations who care for children from 6 months to 12 years. Do you know a childcare centre, classroom, or non-profit organization in need? Click here for more information on how to apply for the Young Readers Grant.
For All Leaders + Changemakers: The alliedFutures toolkit was created in partnership with WilderFutures, Mount Royal University, and the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth. This interactive online toolkit features readings, reflective prompts, and live webinar sessions that support an ongoing journey towards truth, reconciliation, and decolonization. Proceeds from the purchase of the alliedFutures toolkit are donated to USAY.
